🙋 Once upon a time…
There was a girl whose family decided to move to Zamora.
There, to make a living, they thought about opening a butcher shop.🥩
They had a lot of excitement, but it was dampened by the lack of support they found in the industry, nobody wanted to help them.😔
Nevertheless, they decided to continue, learning through trial and error.
They made it.
They opened their first butcher shop and after that, five more. A cutting room and a slaughterhouse..
That girl spent a lot of time in the family business, soaking up not only the knowledge but also the passion that was in the air.
After a few years, she was the one teaching the apprentices who came to the business. It was there that the girl discovered her vocation for teaching.
She was sure.
She wanted to accompany other professionals in training in the meat sector.
That’s how that girl grew up and opened her own meat training center and even a Farm School, to show the little ones what goes on behind the food they eat.
She continued to educate herself 🤓, sharing her knowledge with more and more people as a mentor for meat companies and a teacher of professional certificates in the food industry.
She felt happy.🤗
She had made her passion for the meat sector and her vocation for teaching her profession, but…
There was still a thorn in her side.
Those beginnings of her family where they felt so alone, without support and without the opportunity to train.
that girls was me, María Jose Gago, and it is with this story that one of my most personal project is born.
And since we are among family, I will tell you something more intimate.
At 17, my FATHER got sick and together with my mother, they were absent to receive chemotherapy.
My brother and I ran the business, he left me signed checks to pay suppliers.
Years later, with the training center opening up, my FATHER passed away.😔
I continued with the center, taking many courses to educate myself.
Today, I teach the National Certificate in Auxiliary Operations in the Food Industry. I also work as an advisor and evaluator for them. I work for many meat companies and training centers.
After 25 years as a butcher teacher, with over 1505 students, over 99 in-person courses, I return to my roots.
